Scott Kawamura

Senior Accountant

Scott joined the firm in the summer of 2005 and is Senior Staff Accountant for Avaunt Ltd on a part time basis. Scott earned his Bachelor’s degree in 1986 from the University of Southern California, with an emphasis in accounting. He worked for several years with the firm of Deloitte, Haskins & Sells out of their Los Angeles office, in both their auditing and tax departments, and then spent several more years with a local firm specializing primarily in taxation.

Scott’s responsibilities within the firm involve a wide range of accounting and taxation responsibilities for both individuals and businesses, and is also involved with consultations for business start-ups.

In addition to his work as a CPA with the firm, he is also on the pastoral staff of a local church called Xaris (Xaris is the Greek word for “grace”) in Elk Grove.
Scott has also earned a Masters of Divinity Degree from Fuller Theological Seminary, and has served as the founding pastor of the church Victory Fellowship in Torrance, California, which opened its doors in 1998; as well as currently serving on the pastoral team that founded the church, Xaris, which opened its doors in 2007.

In his free time he enjoys spending time with his two children, as well as watching his alma mater play football and watching the Los Angeles Lakers dominate the NBA.
